Castellar de la Muntanya is an area of great charm, with meadows, woods and tumbling streams. To the north Castellar commands a fine view of the Canigou, the highest mountain of the eastern Pyrenees. Its peaks are covered with snow the greater part of the year. To the east one has a good view of the mountain range of the “Alta Garrotxa”. When the weather is clear one can see as far as the Mediterranean.
